National Geographic Venture
About National Geographic Venture
After National Geographic Quest was built at Nichols Brothers shipyard, its sister ship, the 100-guest National Geographic Venture, floated into Whidbey Island's bay, becoming the fourth Lindblad fleet ship constructed there. Nichols Brothers also built the twin ships National Geographic Sea Bird and National Geographic Sea Lion in the 1970s, which still sail along the west coast of North and Central America.
National Geographic Venture follows wildlife migration patterns throughout the seasons, from Alaska to British Columbia, California’s Channel Islands National Park, and Mexico’s Gulf of California. Designed with over 50 years of expedition expertise, it's larger than its twin ships and has a shallow draft, making it agile in coastal areas for intimate exploration.
Like National Geographic Quest, National Geographic Venture features dual boarding platforms for quick guest disembarkation to spot wildlife and maximize exploration time. With a modern design featuring large glass areas for optimal views, it ensures guests fully engage with and experience its diverse geographies.
Accommodations on National Geographic Venture include 50 outside cabins, each with windows or portholes, private facilities, climate controls, hair dryers, Wi-Fi, and USB ports. Category 4 cabins have balconies, and there are six connected cabins. Suites across the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic fleet offer spacious living areas and stunning views, serving as elegant retreats at sea. Booking these accommodations now includes added benefits through our Suite Exclusives package, enhancing your onboard experience for a memorable voyage.
Dining aboard the National Geographic Venture offers a relaxed, single-seating experience in the dining room, fostering mingling among guests while emphasizing sustainable choices and local ingredients.
Public spaces are diverse and inviting, including reception, the main dining area, a global gallery, fitness center, and a lounge with a full-service bar and presentation facilities. Access to an observation deck, mudroom for expedition gear, partially-covered sundeck, and direct contact with the Bridge, Captain, officers, and wildlife spotters enhances the onboard experience.
Wellness amenities onboard feature a modern fitness center and an LEXspa treatment room staffed by specialists, ensuring guests can unwind and rejuvenate during their voyage.
Special features include expert Lindblad-National Geographic certified photo instructors, undersea specialists, and a video chronicler. Internet access and an elevator for easy navigation complement the ship's offerings.
Expedition tools such as Zodiacs, kayaks, paddleboards, and advanced underwater equipment are available for exploration, supported by snorkeling gear and wet suits as needed. The ship's standout design includes outside decks optimized for wildlife viewing, with the lounge strategically located for guests to capture spontaneous wildlife sightings with ease.
Experience the National Geographic Venture, where every detail is designed to enhance your exploration and connection with the natural world, ensuring a memorable and enriching journey.
