National Geographic Quest
About National Geographic Quest
When she rolled out of the shipyard and into the bay on Whidbey Island, the 100-guest National Geographic Quest became the third ship in the Lindblad fleet built in the Pacific Northwest. Following in the wake of her predecessors, National Geographic Sea Bird and National Geographic Sea Lion, which have long explored the west coast of North and Central America, National Geographic Quest and her twin sister, National Geographic Venture, continue this legacy. Purpose-built to explore the North American coast, National Geographic Quest's design and engineering are informed by nearly 40 years of experience.
Her twin boarding platforms, suggested by a veteran staffer, allow the team to load two Zodiacs at once, ensuring guests can quickly disembark to take advantage of wildlife sightings and maximize exploring time. Larger than her siblings, National Geographic Sea Bird and National Geographic Sea Lion, the National Geographic Quest maintains their shallow draft, allowing her captain to navigate the same intimate inner reaches and deliver unique, "insider" experiences in these captivating regions. With a sleek, modern design and expansive glass windows that keep you constantly connected to breathtaking views, National Geographic Quest offers the ultimate opportunity to see, explore, and experience the best of these diverse geographies.
National Geographic Quest offers 50 outside cabins, all featuring windows or portholes, private facilities, climate controls, and hair dryers, along with Wi-Fi connections and USB ports for mobile devices. Category 4 cabins include step-out balconies, and there are six connected cabins for added convenience. For those seeking an elevated experience, the suites aboard the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic fleet serve as elegant retreats at sea, offering spacious living areas and stunning views that immerse you in the beauty of your marine surroundings. Booking one of these beautifully appointed suites comes with additional benefits through the new Suite Exclusives package, granting guests in eligible cabins access to a range of amenities and perks designed to enhance the on-board experience and make your voyage even more memorable. These include a welcome gift, priority booking for spa treatments and igloo stays, an in-room espresso maker, and complimentary laundry service.
Meals on the National Geographic Quest are served in the dining room at a single seating with unassigned tables, fostering an informal atmosphere and easy mingling. The menus feature sustainable choices, using local ingredients where possible. The ship's public spaces include a reception area, main dining area, global gallery, fitness center, and a lounge with a full-service bar and state-of-the-art presentation facilities. Guests can enjoy the observation deck, a mudroom with lockers for expedition gear, and a partially covered furnished sundeck. Additionally, there is open access to the Bridge, allowing interaction with the captain, officers, and on-duty wildlife spotters.
The National Geographic Quest offers a comprehensive wellness experience with a fitness center equipped with an elliptical, treadmill, weights, and resistance bands, along with a LEXspa treatment room staffed by wellness specialists. Special features of the ship include a Lindblad-National Geographic certified photo instructor, an undersea specialist, a video chronicler, internet access, and an elevator for convenience.
The National Geographic Quest is equipped with a comprehensive array of expedition tools, including a fleet of eight Zodiacs, 24 kayaks, paddleboards, an ROV (remotely operated vehicle), a hydrophone, a Splash-Cam, an underwater video camera, and a video microscope. Additionally, snorkeling gear and wetsuits are available for all guests where applicable, ensuring an immersive and versatile exploration experience.
With its exceptional design, state-of-the-art amenities, and thoughtful features, the National Geographic Quest offers an unparalleled adventure, seamlessly blending comfort and exploration for an unforgettable journey.
