Built locally, her iron exterior is wrapped in tropical hardwoods, while the interior shines with wood floors and lacquered palm ceilings. The ship’s design captures the essence of the Amazon, with floating wood staircases and ceiling fans that evoke the tropical atmosphere, all while air conditioning ensures a cool, comfortable environment.
The heart of life aboard Delfin II is the lounge, where you’ll find an inviting open bar and cozy seating that encourages conversation and camaraderie among fellow travelers. The dining room is a true highlight, adorned with locally crafted lanterns and dominated by a central buffet table carved from a massive tree root found floating in the river. The space is surrounded by three walls of windows, keeping you connected to the ever-changing panorama outside. Delfin II’s commitment to local nature, culture, and exquisite Amazonian-Peruvian cuisine has earned it a place in the prestigious Relais & Châteaux hotel group.
After a day of exploring, retreat to one of the airy, supremely comfortable cabins. Each cabin is designed with crisp cotton linens and generous river-facing windows, providing the perfect vantage point to gaze at the starry night sky. With the ability to move along the river, Delfin II offers an ever-changing experience of the Amazon’s diverse landscapes, a distinct advantage over any land-based camp.
Delfin II features 14 outside suites, including four Amazon suites and 10 regular suites, all offering elegant, air-conditioned accommodations with stunning vistas. The Amazon suites boast oversized windows that provide incredible 90-degree views, while the minimalist décor throughout the ship exudes a luxurious touch.
Meals aboard Delfin II are artfully prepared with locally sourced ingredients, offering a true taste of the Amazon. The dining room accommodates all guests in a single seating, with complimentary beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits (except for select premium brands). Public spaces include an air-conditioned presentation room, an open-air lounge and bar on the top deck, and a dining room with a 270-degree panorama. Additional amenities include a small library, exercise room, spa, and an open bridge where guests are always welcome.
For your daily explorations, the ship is equipped with 10-person skiffs that feature comfortable individual seats, providing the perfect platform for searching for rare birds and mammals, and exploring the Amazon’s hidden tributaries. Kayaks are also available for those who prefer a quieter, more intimate experience of the remote side streams.
One of the most noteworthy features of Delfin II is its connection to the region, with much of the food sourced from local rainforest farmers who practice sustainable agriculture. Even the chocolates on your pillow are crafted from local cacao, offering a true taste of the Amazon at every turn.
