MS Nordkapp
About MS Nordkapp
Embark on an exploration with MS Nordkapp, an experienced voyager along the Norwegian coast since 1996, including a remarkable journey to Antarctica. Revel in the modern, Arctic-inspired interior unveiled after its 2016 refurbishment. Named after the northernmost point on mainland Europe, North Cape, this vessel, accommodating 590 passengers and boasting a gross tonnage of 11,386, invites you to join the Coastal Experience Team. Immerse yourself in captivating insights about nature, wildlife, and culture through expert lectures, wildlife discussions on deck, or adventurous hikes during your memorable voyage.
The dedicated Coastal Experience Team, transforming the ship into a floating university at sea. Dive into fascinating lectures, presentations, and activities both indoors and on the sun deck, promising an exhilarating and educational journey influenced by the season and sailing waters. Daily programs include lectures, presentations, and evening gatherings led by the Coastal Experience Team, fostering engagement, interpretation, and an enriched understanding of nature, wildlife, and culture encountered during the voyage.
Exciting news for parents! For children aged 6-13, we offer a complimentary Young Explorers activity program throughout July and August. A dedicated team will engage your children through a variety of on and off-ship activities, fostering curiosity and a sense of adventure. The program is crafted to be interactive and captivating, featuring art workshops, creative challenges, competitive games, quick-fire quizzes, and more. It maintains a stimulating pace that captures their attention, fostering team building and bonding. Beyond the program, children often make new friends, forming connections that can last a lifetime. Additionally, they'll learn about the ancient Vikings, famous Norwegian polar explorers, experience polar exploration during a mountain hike, discover key moments in Norway's history, and uncover the science and myths behind the Northern Lights. Furthermore, they'll learn how to identify bird species along the Norwegian coast, witness on-board recycling efforts, participate in a beach clean-up, explore Northern Norway's indigenous Sámi culture, learn about the Norwegian concept of friluftsliv (outdoors life), practice speaking a few Sámi words, and engage in crafting works of art using everyday items.
Tantalize your taste buds with authentic local flavors. Supporting 50 local farms, bakeries, and producers, we bring the essence of Norway to each onboard restaurant. Delight in melt-in-your-mouth cod from Vesterålen, savor award-winning cheeses from Lofoten, and sip quality craft beer from Bergen. This ship features a main restaurant, a bistro-style eatery, and a fine-dining à la carte restaurant, each embracing food concept of authentic local cuisine. Enjoy your meals with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the fjords, connecting you to the very places where the ingredients are sourced. Beyond delivering farm-and-fjord-to-table flavors, the commitment to local sourcing minimizes our footprint and reduces food waste, ensuring that the cuisine is not only kind to the planet but also authentically amazing.
