Silversea Cruises for Guests with Special Needs
Silversea is able to accommodate guests with disabilities. Throughout their ships to assist guest with special needs including:
- Gangways are wide enough to accommodate most wheelchairs and scooters
- Accessible public restrooms
- All dining and bar venues offer wheelchair seating
- Wheelchair seating in the Theater
- Lower Guest Relations counter
- Wheelchair accessible beauty salon & library
Guests who require wheelchairs must bring their own or have one delivered. not all shore excursions are suitable for guests with impaired mobility.

Accessible Staterooms
Silversea offers a limited number of handicapped accessible staterooms on their ships. Those staterooms offer features to assist disabled guests including:
- Stateroom door width: at least 33 inches
- Bathroom door width: at least 33 inches
- No doorsill to get into stateroom
- Ramped bathroom thresholds
- Bathroom grab bars
- Lowered sink and stateroom vanity
- Roll-in showers
- Fold-down shower bench
- Hand-held showerheads
- Commode height 20 inches
- Refrigerator in stateroom (upon request)
- Accessible balconies (varies by stateroom)
Visual Impairments
Certain features are available on Silversea ships to aid guests with visual impairments including:
- Braille/tactile public room signage
- Braille/tactile elevator buttons and audio call signals
- Braille deck numbers on staircase handrails
- Braille/tactile stateroom numbers
Hearing Impairments
Certain features are available on Silversea ships to aid guests with hearing impairments including:
- Amplified phones
- Assistive listening systems in Theaters
Oxygen
Should guests require oxygen for medical reasons while onboard they must send written notification to Silversea prior to departure. Please note that an oxygen concentrator is the only form of oxygen equipment that the Silversea ships can accommodate.
Accommodations for guests with special needs can vary by cruise line and by ship and changes can be made at any time without notice. It is important that you advise your agent at the time of booking about any disabilities or special requirements that you may have so that your needs can be assessed accordingly.
