American Cruise Line's Cruise Local, Eat Local philosophy is to use the freshest, locally sourced ingredients to create innovative, regionally inspired menus with daily freshly baked breads. They strive to support the local economy by obtaining the finest produce from local farmers and to source the seafood and meats as near as possible to the ship.
A major focus is to offer local regional specialties. Freshly caught Northwest salmon and local Columbia River wines are featured on the northwest cruises. Memphis barbeque, local artisan cheeses, gumbos, creole entrees and Abita beer from New Orleans are highlighted on the Mississippi cruises. On the Southeastern cruises the menu features Maryland's famous blue crabs, Apalachicola Bay oysters, and fresh caught Georgia shrimp. In the northeast the menus feature freshly baked New England brown bread, lobster bakes with fresh Maine lobsters, and craft beers such as Lobster Ale and Allagash Beer.
American Cruise Lines brings traditional American dining, highly personalized service, and a relaxed casual atmosphere to create a truly unique cruise experience.
